Lesson 1: Tell me about yourself

1. Can you tell me a bit about yourself?
I'm a software engineer with about four years of experience, mostly in backend development.
I studied Information Technology at university and started my career at a small startup.
These days, I focus on building APIs and improving system performance.

2. What do you do in your current role?
I design and maintain backend services for our main product.
I also work closely with the frontend team to keep our APIs easy to use.
On top of that, I review code and mentor a couple of junior developers.

3. What are you looking for in your next job?
I'm hoping to keep growing technically, especially around distributed systems.
I also want a team with a strong engineering culture and good mentorship.
Interesting problems matter more to me than the job title.

4. Why are you thinking about leaving your current company?
The company is doing fine, but I've reached a point where I'm not learning much anymore.
I want a bigger challenge and more room to grow.
It's not about anything negative, just timing.

5. How would your colleagues describe you?
I think they'd say I'm reliable and easy to work with.
A few might mention that I ask a lot of questions before starting a task.
That's actually intentional, since it saves time later on.
